  • Botulinum Toxin Type A (BOTOX®) is a purified, natural and injectable liquid that can be used for both medical and cosmetic procedures. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approves it’s use in over 18-year-olds for cosmetic procedure in the United Kingdom. This is a regulated substance, and requires a medical professionals with a prescribing licence, in order to prescribe it. It is a very effective treatment in adjusting facial muscles, softening lines and blocking sweat glands to MODIFY your overall look.

  • Enlarged jaw muscles (masseter), chin dimpling and neck lines are caused or exacerbated by the repeated contraction of underlying muscles in the neck.

    When BOTOX is injected into specific facial or neck muscles, it temporarily blocks the signals from the nerves to those muscles. This blocks the muscle's ability to contract, leading to a temporary relaxation of the muscle. As a result, the overlying skin becomes smoother and lines are reduced or eliminated.

    This can also stop targeted muscles around sweat glands from working and in doing so reduces sweating.

    Cosmetic uses of BOTOX:

    1. Relax neck muscles for rejuvenating and lifting effects.

    2. Manipulate the eyebrow muscles for a lifting effect.

    3. Reduce masseter muscle bulking to slim the jawline.

    4. Soften gummy smiles and dimpling chins.

    5. Reduce/stop excessive sweating in the armpits (otherwise known as hyperhidrosis).

  • BOTOX is temporary. Effects develop within the first week, with maximum effects at 2 weeks. The effects last up to 6 months. With repeated treatments, the effects can sometimes last longer. Your body overcomes it’s effects over time, making it wear off naturally. BOTOX effects cannot be reversed quicker than this.

  • DURATION

    10 - 30 minutes.

  • PAIN

    We apply local anaesthetic cream to areas being treated to reduce pain to a bare minimum.

  • BEFORE CARE

    Avoid makeup, creams or other products on areas being treated.

    To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) (Ibuprofen, Naproxen etc.) for 24 hours prior to your procedure.

    If you are on other blood thinning medications like Aspirin, Warfarin, or Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) (Rivaroxiban, Apixaban etc.) kindly contact us prior to your consultation to discuss the risks.

  • EFFECTS

    3 - 5 days: gradual changes.

    2 weeks: full effects.

    3-6 months: total effects (varies depending on lifestyle factors).

  • AFTERCARE

    4 hours: avoid makeup, creams, other products or touching the area to limit the risk of infection.

    24 hours: avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) (Ibuprofen, Naproxen etc.).

    24/7: Patients will have round-the-clock access to the Kai Team via text and email for urgent concerns.

  • DOWNTIME

    Day procedure - can return to normal life after the procedure.

  • FOLLOW UP

    2 weeks: appointment to address any concerns, make adjustments to treatment as needed (this includes top-up Botox free of charge) and assess outcomes.

  • DO NOT USE BOTOX IF:

    • Under 18-years-old

    • Allergy to Botulinum Toxin

    • Neuromuscular disorders (Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome)

    • Pregnant or Breast Feeding

    • On Aminogylcoside antibiotics (if you are not sure kindly contact us to confirm)

    • Significant bleeding disorders

    • Burn, trauma or infection at the sites wanting to be treated
